RadioNet / Tibaŋsim

Locally relevant voice information delivered through familiar communication infrastructure.

RadioNet and Tibaŋsim investigated information access in environments where conventional Internet use may be constrained by connectivity, literacy, language or device access. The work linked locally relevant voice content with GSM and FM radio infrastructure.

The system was not simply a software exercise. Research considered how information already moves through communities, which languages people use and which infrastructure can be maintained. That combination shaped both the technical design and the evaluation.
